VPN Unlimited Leak Test

Three things VPN Unlimited documents change what these checks return. Its own knowledge base states that VPN Unlimited does not yet support IPv6 and recommends disabling IPv6 on your device, so an IPv6 address here belongs to your own connection. DNS is a setting rather than a default: Stop DNS Leak is described in the Windows manual as making all DNS requests go through VPN DNS servers only, and you switch it on in the app. Trusted Networks then works the other way, automatically disabling the VPN connection on networks you have marked as trusted, which is one reason a reading can look unchanged. What follows describes your own session, not KeepSolid's servers.

Live test

Run the test on VPN Unlimited now

VPN Unlimited routes DNS to its own servers only when Stop DNS Leak is switched on, so read the resolver line first. If this network sits on your Trusted Networks list, the app disables the connection by design.

Current-session checks

What this VPN Unlimited self-test checks

Read each signal once before connecting and once after, in the same browser. On VPN Unlimited it is worth confirming which settings are on first, because several of them decide what the readings are able to show.

Before you read the result

What VPN Unlimited documents about these signals

The points below come from VPN Unlimited's own manuals and knowledge base pages. They cover the settings most likely to decide what your own readings show.

IPv6 is not yet supported

VPN Unlimited's own knowledge base states that it does not yet support IPv6 and, to avoid an IP leak, recommends disabling IPv6 on your device. Its Synology setup manual carries the same instruction, recommending you turn IPv6 off before enabling the VPN connection. An IPv6 result taken while connected therefore describes your own connection, and the documented fix lives at the device rather than in the app.

Stop DNS Leak is a switch, not a default

The Windows manual describes Stop DNS Leak in plain terms: turn it on to make all DNS requests go through VPN DNS servers only. That wording places DNS handling under a setting you control rather than something the app is documented to apply on its own. If the resolver named in your reading is not the one you expected, that toggle is where VPN Unlimited's own documentation points first.

Kill Switch defaults differ by platform

VPN Unlimited documents the Kill Switch as instantly turning off your internet connection if it detects any disruptions or failures of a VPN connection, and lists it for Windows, macOS, iOS and Android 8.0 Oreo and higher. It states that the feature is enabled by default on iOS and on the macOS App Store version, while on Windows you enable it in Settings and on Android you turn on Always-on VPN and Block connections without VPN. Which platform you are reading this on therefore decides whether it is a setting to confirm.

Trusted Networks turns the VPN off on purpose

Trusted Networks lets you mark networks you treat as trusted, and VPN Unlimited documents the result plainly: the VPN connection will be automatically disabled while on the trusted internet connections. On the Windows standalone app only WiFi networks can be added, not LAN. If you are testing at home on a network you once added to that list, an unchanged address is the feature working rather than a fault.

A Personal Static IP changes what a lookup returns

VPN Unlimited sells a Personal Static IP as a unique address in a country you select that will be used only by you, contrasting it with shared servers where many subscribers reside on the same server and share one address. Deployment is documented as taking up to 72 hours, with an email once it is ready. If you have one, your exit address stays the same between sessions, so an address or ASN lookup returns a steadier answer than a shared server address would.

Between the readings

Record a kill-switch drop on VPN Unlimited

VPN Unlimited documents its Kill Switch as instantly turning off your internet connection if it detects any disruptions or failures of a VPN connection, and states that it is enabled by default on iOS and on the macOS App Store version. On Windows and Android it is enabled manually, which makes the length of the gap worth recording.

What this cannot prove

  • This checks visible browser/session signals only.
  • This does not certify the provider.
  • This does not test every server, app, device, or connection.
  • This does not prove anonymity.
  • This does not prove every security condition.
  • A clean result does not prove every leak is absent.

How to compare before and after on VPN Unlimited

  1. Before connecting, note the visible address, the resolver that answered, and whether the IPv6 check returned anything.
  2. Open the app and check three settings first: Kill Switch, Stop DNS Leak, and whether this network sits on your Trusted Networks list.
  3. Connect, then rerun the same checks in the same browser.
  4. Expect the address to change, and the resolver too once Stop DNS Leak is on. An IPv6 address that persists points at the device, since VPN Unlimited says it does not yet support IPv6.
Safe Copy limits

Safe Copy exports use safe summary categories and remove raw IP, exact city, full user-agent, raw fingerprint data, raw resolver IPs and WebRTC candidates. It is not a certificate, provider audit, or proof of anonymity.

FAQ

VPN Unlimited leak test FAQ

Does VPN Unlimited support IPv6?

Its own knowledge base states that VPN Unlimited does not yet support IPv6 and recommends disabling IPv6 on your device to avoid an IP leak. The Synology setup manual repeats that recommendation before you enable the VPN connection.

My DNS check names a resolver I did not expect. What does the app control?

VPN Unlimited documents a Stop DNS Leak setting, described in its Windows manual as making all DNS requests go through VPN DNS servers only. It is a switch inside the app, so confirming its state is where the documentation points.

Is the Kill Switch on by default?

It depends on the platform. VPN Unlimited states that the Kill Switch is enabled by default on iOS and on the macOS App Store version, while on Windows and Android it is enabled manually. It is listed for Android 8.0 Oreo and higher.

Why does the VPN switch itself off on my home network?

That is Trusted Networks. VPN Unlimited documents the feature as automatically disabling the VPN connection while on the trusted internet connections you have added. On the Windows standalone app only WiFi networks can be added, not LAN.

I have a Personal Static IP. Does that change these readings?

It changes what an address lookup returns. VPN Unlimited describes a Personal Static IP as a unique address in a country you select, used only by you rather than shared with other subscribers, and says deployment may take up to 72 hours.

Can this page confirm that KeepSolid keeps no logs?

No. KeepSolid states that it does not monitor, store or log your online activity and that it removes your IP address after your session ends. That concerns what the company retains on its side, which no browser check can observe.
