Cookie Policy

How cookies, local storage, and similar technologies may apply to MyIPScan.

Last updated: May 2, 2026

Summary

Core MyIPScan tools do not require a MyIPScan account cookie. The site can use browser local storage for convenience features, and third-party services may use cookies or similar technologies if analytics, ads, affiliate destinations, or embedded services are enabled.

Essential cookies

Essential cookies are cookies required to provide a requested feature, maintain security, prevent abuse, or remember a necessary setting. The current core diagnostic pages are designed to work without account cookies, but hosting or security providers may process technical request data to deliver and protect the site.

Local storage and similar technologies

MyIPScan shared scripts may use local storage keys such as privacy-score state, completed test status, recent IP history, and utility history. This data is stored in your browser and can be cleared through browser settings.

Analytics cookies

The current ga4.js file is a no-op placeholder. If analytics is enabled later, this policy must be updated to identify the provider, describe whether cookies are used, and explain consent choices before non-essential analytics runs where consent is required.

Advertising cookies

MyIPScan does not add advertising cookies in this task. If ads are added later, this policy must identify the advertising provider, the cookie categories involved, and the consent or opt-out choices available to users.

Affiliate tracking

Some pages may contain affiliate links. Clicking an affiliate link can send you to a third-party site that may use tracking IDs, cookies, or similar technologies to attribute referrals. MyIPScan does not control cookies set by third-party destinations.

EU, UK, and EEA consent logic

If Google Analytics, AdSense, affiliate tracking scripts, or other non-essential tracking is active for users in the EU, UK, or EEA, MyIPScan should request consent before loading non-essential cookies or tracking scripts and should provide a way to change that choice.

Your choices

  • Clear MyIPScan local storage and cookies in your browser settings.
  • Use browser controls or extensions to block third-party cookies.
  • Avoid clicking external affiliate or provider links if you do not want to visit third-party sites.
  • Contact hello@myipscan.net with cookie-policy questions.
