AmneziaVPN is one app for three services: Amnezia Premium, Amnezia Free, and a self-hosted VPN on your own server. Each one reads differently in a leak test. Amnezia Free sends only blocked resources through the VPN. Premium runs AmneziaWG 3.1 by default, with XRay VLESS Reality as an option. On self-hosted servers, AmneziaDNS keeps DNS queries inside the tunnel, and split tunneling by IP address works with IPv4 only.
On Amnezia Free, the docs say only traffic to a list of blocked resources goes through Amnezia servers, so your own IP on this page is expected and is not a leak. On a self-hosted server the IP line should show your server's address, because the VPN's location matches the country of your server.
This reports what your browser shows in this session. It does not certify AmneziaVPN, does not test every server, app or device, and does not prove anonymity.
Current-session checks
What this AmneziaVPN self-test checks
The IP and DNS checks show whether traffic and lookups leave through the Amnezia server or your own provider. The IPv6 and WebRTC checks look for addresses that can travel outside an IPv4 tunnel.
Amnezia notes that an unstable connection can trigger KillSwitch and stop internet access.
Free, Premium or self-hosted
The same AmneziaVPN app connects to Amnezia Premium, Amnezia Free or a VPN on your own server. Premium uses AmneziaWG 3.1 by default and also offers XRay VLESS Reality. On a self-hosted server, the location is the country where that server runs.
Amnezia Free sends only blocked sites
Amnezia's FAQ says Amnezia Free servers carry only traffic to a list of blocked resources, not all of your traffic. A leak test page that is not on that list connects directly, so your own IP is the documented result. Split tunneling by IP address is not available on Amnezia Free.
AmneziaDNS on your own server
For self-hosted servers, Amnezia describes AmneziaDNS, a resolver installed on the server so that DNS queries go through the tunnel instead of to your ISP. If AmneziaDNS is not installed or is turned off, the connection uses the addresses from the app's DNS setting. The DNS line shows which of the two applies.
Split tunneling and IPv6
The split tunneling guide says routing by IP address supports IPv4 only and not IPv6. On iOS, macOS and Linux, split tunneling works by IP address only, not by app. Check the IPv6 line separately from the IPv4 result.
Audits, logs and servers
Amnezia says 7ASecurity reviewed its apps and server components. For Premium it says it does not collect or store activity history, and that nothing is written to server disks. The client source code is published on GitHub.
Between the readings
Record a kill-switch drop on AmneziaVPN
Amnezia's docs describe KillSwitch as blocking internet access if the VPN connection drops, so traffic does not fall back to the regular connection; it is a setting in the desktop app. On Android the docs point to the system options Always-on VPN and Block connections without VPN, and on iOS the app has no separate switch.

What this cannot prove
This checks visible browser/session signals only.
This does not certify the provider.
This does not test every server, app, device, or connection.
This does not prove anonymity.
This does not prove every security condition.
A clean result does not prove every leak is absent.
How to compare before and after on AmneziaVPN
Disconnect AmneziaVPN and run the test to record your own IP, DNS servers and IPv6 address.
Connect to Amnezia Premium or your own server; on Amnezia Free only blocked resources use the VPN.
Run the test again in the same browser.
Expect the IP to match the chosen location or your server, and the DNS line to change if AmneziaDNS or a DNS setting applies.
Safe Copy limits
Safe Copy exports use safe summary categories and remove raw IP, exact city, full user-agent, raw fingerprint data, raw resolver IPs and WebRTC candidates. It is not a certificate, provider audit, or proof of anonymity.
FAQ
AmneziaVPN leak test FAQ
Why does the test show my own IP on Amnezia Free?
Amnezia Free carries only traffic to a list of blocked resources. Other sites, including this test, connect directly.
Does AmneziaVPN have a kill switch on every platform?
KillSwitch is a setting in the desktop app. Android relies on the system's Always-on VPN and Block connections without VPN options, and the iOS app has no separate switch.
Which protocol does Amnezia Premium use?
The current app uses AmneziaWG 3.1 by default. You can switch to XRay VLESS Reality.
How do I keep DNS inside the tunnel on my own server?
Amnezia's docs describe installing AmneziaDNS on the server. DNS queries then go through the tunnel instead of to your ISP.
Does split tunneling handle IPv6?
No. The split tunneling guide says routing by IP address supports IPv4 only.
Has AmneziaVPN been audited?
Amnezia says 7ASecurity reviewed its apps and server components, and the audit firm's reports are public.
