What does a Sky UK IP mean in a privacy test?

A Sky address as your visible IP means the connection left over the Sky broadband line with nothing tunnelling it. Sky does not name its customer addresses in reverse DNS the way BT does, so a PTR query on one usually returns nothing at all - which is a fact about how Sky runs its zone, not a sign of anything wrong with the address.

Sky publishes no reverse DNS for customer addresses

This is worth knowing before you go looking for it. BT names every broadband address under btcentralplus.com, Orange names its customers under wanadoo.fr and Deutsche Telekom writes the address into the hostname in hex - but a PTR query on a Sky customer address comes back empty. 90.192.0.1, 2.120.0.1 and 176.248.1.1 all return NXDOMAIN. There is no hostname here to read a city or a line type out of, so on this network the ASN and the RIPE inetnum are all the published information there is.

That makes a Sky match blunt but reliable: the address is on Sky's broadband access network, it is a customer line rather than rented compute, and nothing further about it is published. The silence is worth not over-reading. A missing PTR record is the normal state on this network and says nothing about the subscriber behind the address - it is a choice Sky made about its own zone, not a signal about the connection.
