What the result means

Fourteen common fonts are measured against monospace, serif and sans-serif baselines using canvas text width. A font counts as likely present when its width differs from the fallback. The output is a count and a hash; the detected list stays hidden by default.

Known limitations

  • Fourteen named fonts are tested. This is not an enumeration of the fonts installed on the device.
  • Width comparison is approximate and produces both false positives and false negatives depending on browser font-fallback behaviour.
  • A canvas context is required. Without one the test cannot measure anything and says so instead of guessing.
