AS212238 is not its main network: the aut-num was created on 2 December 2020 with the as-name CDNEXT and registers a routing policy of exactly one line each way, import from AS60068 accept ANY and export to AS60068 announce AS212238. AS60068 is the older CDN77 aut-num, created on 4 June 2014 under the same organisation. Most of what AS212238 originates is address space registered to other companies.

What CDN77 publishes, and what it makes you ask for

CDN77's own documentation is explicit that its edge address list is not public. The origin protection page in its knowledge base tells customers who need to allowlist the CDN to write in on live chat or to its support address, says it will then provide an automatically updating list, and recommends a daily check of that list so that newly added addresses are picked up. No URL, no API endpoint and no ASN appears on that page, so a firewall rule assembled from a third-party guess at CDN77 space will drift out of date. The registry objects do not fill the gap either: neither AS212238 nor AS60068 carries a geofeed attribute, and none of the allocations checked for this page publishes one.

What is published is routing metadata, and almost all of it belongs to the parent ASN rather than this one. The aut-num for AS60068 documents an action-community scheme of the form 60068:YYYYZ, where the four-digit field selects a destination and the trailing digit selects the action, zero for no-export and one through three for successive prepends, with 60068:666 for blackhole and 60068:60010 for do-not-export to the backbone, and it enumerates internet exchanges in a 60068:50xx range running from 5001 for Peering.cz to 5074 for SGIX in Singapore. Those are the machines that sit in front of a customer website, and a request from one of them is the CDN fetching or serving content on somebody else's behalf.

Address space handed to tenants uses a different template entirely: the dashed literal address behind a unn- prefix, under either domain the group uses. 156.146.32.1 returns unn-156-146-32-1.cdn77.com, 212.102.35.1 returns unn-212-102-35-1.cdn77.com and 143.244.44.1 returns unn-143-244-44-1.datapacket.com. Much of what AS212238 originates has no reverse record at all: sampled addresses in 104.250.208.0/20, 104.233.32.0/20, 38.89.80.0/21, 93.88.144.0/21, 104.143.232.0/21, 38.57.40.0/21, 104.233.0.0/21 and 104.250.192.0/21 returned nothing, and the RIPE record for 104.233.32.0/20 is an ASSIGNED PA object with netname codesg and country SG, maintained by lir-uk-fastplanet-1-MNT, the same LIR maintainer as the FASTPLANET allocation above it. The rule for a log line, then: a point-of-presence name is CDN infrastructure, a unn- name or no name at all is a machine some other party runs, and neither is a residential connection.
